Czech and Slovak thinkers say West repeating appeasement errors (Video)

The West has been warned of the dangers of appeasing Russia over its invasion of Ukraine in an open letter signed by dozens of Czech and Slovak intellectuals that draws parallels with current events and those of the late 1930s in Europe.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UAA1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The letter warned against repeating errors made in 1938 and 1939, when German dictator Adolf Hitler threatened, annexed part of, and then invaded Czechoslovakia, with no firm opposition from Britain and France, Ukraine Today reports.

Recalling the annexation of the Sudetenland almost 80 years ago, the activists entitled the letter “Let's not repeat the Munich Betrayal of 1938.” In it, they suggest that the insufficient military support for Ukraine from the United States and Britain in the wake of Russia’s aggression “casts a shadow of doubt” on the credibility of security guarantees provided to NATO member states.

The message addresses the leaders of the UK, the United States, Germany, France, European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
