Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin believes that an international audit is needed in the occupied territory of Donbas.

"You remember what happened? All those enterprises, all companies were stolen from us. Therefore, we need, and I've long been saying that, an international administration, we need an international audit, [to see] what they did there, what they burned down for scrap, or smashed to pieces," Klimkin said in an interview with TSN.

The audit, the minister explained, is needed to see the actual situation with local assets.

Once the international audit has been completed, the foreign minister says, the assets must be re-registered, since these enterprises must become Ukrainian taxpayers again and generally operate in the Ukrainian legal field.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin said Ukraine would be able to join the European Union approximately in 2035.
