EC: Too early to talk about content of Riga Summit declaration

The European Commission has said that it is too early to say exactly what will be written in the declaration to be adopted at the Eastern Partnership Summit on May 21-22 in Riga.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UAA1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to UNIAN’s correspondent in Brussels, the European Commission has commented on recent media reports that the EU "forgot" to mention a visa-free regime with Ukraine and Georgia in the declaration.

"There are still two months left before the summit in Riga. It would be premature to discuss the content of the declaration at this stage," the report says.

"However, it is very difficult to predict at this stage what the results of the summit in this aspect will be. The assessment mission is now evaluating progress and the overall assessment will be made by the Commission after the completion of all the missions," the report reads.

As reported earlier, another assessment mission of the European Commission is to visit Ukraine before the end of April.
