Representatives of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) at Minsk peace talks on Donbas on July 2 failed to agree on the so-called "harvest" ceasefire and the swap of prisoners of war (POWs) over the Russian delegation's position.

"In connection with the position of the Russian Federation, no progress has been achieved both on the introduction of a 'harvest' truce and agreement to free captives," press secretary of Ukrainian envoy to the TCG, ex-president Leonid Kuchma's Darka Olifer said on Facebook on July 2 following a TCG meeting in Minsk on the same day.

As UNIAN previously reported, Kuchma earlier stressed the need to hold a meeting of Normandy Four leaders – Ukraine, Russia, Germany, and France – to give serious impetus to the further implementation of the Minsk peace agreements on Donbas.

The next TCG meeting is scheduled for July 17, 2019.
