Amendments to the Ukrainian constitution may be introduced this year, former Ukrainian President Leonid Kravchuk told journalists after the first meeting of the Constitutional Commission on Monday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
"How will it be possible to hold local elections this year, if [a new] constitution isn’t adopted?” Kravchuk said.
“Based on the old Constitution? In this case, the elections will be illegitimate or the electoral powers will not be defined by the constitution," he said.
