Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko called on the French government to ratify the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union during a meeting with the President of the French Senate Gérard Larcher, the press service of the Ukrainian head of state reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, the parties discussed the participation of Ukrainian parliamentarians in the meeting on May 7, which will be devoted to the debate on Ukraine and the ratification of the Association Agreement.
"Today is an important day in the history of Ukrainian-French relations," Poroshenko said, assessing the results of his official visit to France.
"We want to reduce the distance between the people and government," Poroshenko said, speaking about the reforms that are now taking place in Ukraine.
