“If Ukraine fails, NATO fails” reads the main message from NATO states’ foreign ministers voiced on Wednesday at a conference in Turkey, while Ukraine's top diplomat Pavlo Klimkin said that the alliance had expressed willingness to support Ukraine in implementing reforms, modernizing the country’s defense sector, and fighting Russian propaganda.

One of the key Ukraine’s allies – the United States – will continue supporting a united and European Ukraine, which is 100 percent in Washington’s strategic interests, according to the Ukrainian foreign minister, Ukraine Today reports.

Klimkin also said that free and fair local elections in the Donbas are necessary to restore law and order.

Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, stated that “Ukraine can count on Ukraine’s continued support” as the country stepped on the path of broad reforms to gain progress and stability.

Meanwhile, Russia’s plans for possible stationing of nuclear weapons in occupied Crimea have raised concerns with the NATO member states.
