A new round of Russian aggression against Ukraine is possible, Polish Defense Minister Tomasz Siemoniak said on Friday on Polish televison’s TVN24 channel, according to an UNIAN correspondent from Warsaw.

"Together with NATO, we are closely watching what is happening behind our eastern border, and we can say that the Minsk agreements aren’t effectively implemented and we are dealing with the freezing of the situation,” Siemoniak said.

“An evil scenario is hiding just around the corner," he said, commenting on the situation in the Donbas.

According to Siemoniak, Russia wants to exert "permanent and great pressure" on Ukraine.

"Among the positive facts, it is worth noting the activity of U.S. officials who had several meetings with the Russians. But any scenario is possible, and we have to remember about this in Poland," he said, asked whether Russia was preparing another attack.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Reuters reported on a threefold increase of the amount of Russian military equipment near the eastern border of Ukraine and several cases of Russia sending weapons to militants in the Donbas.
