The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) is planning to arrest several incumbent lawmakers, who were members of the Party of Regions faction, Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
"The investigators have identified persons who earlier belonged to the Party of Regions faction and now are incumbent MPs," he said.
"As of today, the PGO is preparing a submission to the Verkhovna Rada to strip them of their parliamentary immunity and to arrest," Shokin said.
According to Shokin, the submission will be tabled in parliament in September when the lawmakers gather for a new session.
