Ukraine recognized the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for crimes against humanity and war crimes committed since the beginning of the Russian aggression, according to Pavlo Klimkin, Ukraine's Foreign Minister.
"A historical moment. On behalf of the President, I am now handing over a declaration recognizing the ICC jurisdiction," Klimkin tweeted from Hague.
According to the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, crimes against the Maidan protesters, the crimes of the aggressor and of the terrorists it supports will not remain unpunished.
In addition, Klimkin said that the ICC praised the active help of the Ukrainian authorities in the investigation of crimes on the Maidan.
