During his visit to Paris on October 2 to participate in a meeting of the "Normandy Quartet" leaders, i.e. France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will insist Russia cancel pseudo-elections in Donbas, Kostyantyn Yeliseyev, deputy chief of presidential administration told at a briefing in Kyiv today.
"The most important issue is the abolition by the Russian side of the fake elections in Donbas, on October 18 and November 1, respectively; and Ukraine, Germany and France unanimously agree on this issue; and this position was confirmed in New York during the bilateral meetings with the French President and the German Chancellor that an important prerequisite for further peace process is a categorical cancellation of these elections by Russia," Yeliseyev stressed.
