Baloha: BYuT accepted its defeat

President’s Chief of Staff Victor Baloha does not rule out that, in the end of this year or at the beginning of next year, a snap parliamentary poll will take place.

He said this in an interview with 1+1 television on Sunday.

V.Baloha noted that, as of today, BYuT has already accepted its defeat at the early election of Kyiv Mayor, fixed for May 25.

He noted that now BYuT has two variants, both of them being quite probable. One of them stipulates disrupting the election, and the other stipulates organizing a new Maydan [the Orange Revolution].

The Chief of Staff is confident that the Block of Yulia Tymoshenko has already begun to fulfill this variant, and has been busy with an active mobilization.

“When we talk about mobilization, it means BYuT wants to achieve a new election to the Verkhovna Rada as early as this year”, V.Baloha said.

He forecasts that should the situation not change, an early parliamentary election is quite possible. “If the current processes develop, different events may take place, without any doubt”, he said.

At the same time, he expressed a belief that neither society nor political forces want another snap poll.
