Poroshenko says number of agreements with NATO to be signed, to enhance Ukraine’s defenses

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced that a number of document are to be signed with NATO in the near future, which will strengthen Ukraine’s defense capacity, an UNIAN correspondent in Brussels reported from Poroshenko’s joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

"I am confident that after today's signature of the Roadmap of Military-Technical Cooperation between Ukraine and NATO, we will have a significant growth of this format of support," he said.

In the near future, several documents aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capacity will be signed.

The document defines the basic measures of cooperation for the development of Ukraine’s potential in the field of arms and military equipment, to achieve interoperability with NATO forces in this area, as well as measures of providing assistance to Ukraine for it the country to switch to the technical standards of the Alliance.
