Newly appointed Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy said he supported the introduction of a visa regime with Russia, Ukrainian news service TSN reported.
"When I was Secretary of the National and Security Defense Council, I launched an initiative to introduce a visa regime with the Russian Federation. My position has not changed since… When we see an aggression on the part of any state, the relationships are terminated and suspended," Parubiy said on Ukrainian 1+1 TV Channel.
At this, Parubiy did not answer whether the issue of severance of diplomatic relations with Russia would be put to the vote.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs rejected a draft resolution on termination of diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation.
