Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has summoned Charge-d'Affaires ad interim of the Syrian Arab Republic to Ukraine Muhammad Sabah Al-Khadj Bakri regarding the statement of the Syrian Parliament Speaker on Crimea, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Mariana Betsa told Ukrainian online newspaper Ukrainska Pravda.
"On October 20, the Foreign Ministry summoned the Chargé d'Affaires of Syria in Ukraine to express strong protest and receive an explanation over the statements of the Syrian parliament speaker on the issue of Crimea sovereignty," Betsa said.

Earlier, Chairman of the Syrian People's Council Khadija Abbas, speaking of Crimea, named it part of Russia.
