Fugitive ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych regrets he did not declare martial law and did not send in troops "against radicals" amid Maidan protests in Ukraine late in 2013 – early in 2014.
"As for me, I have really committed a number of mistakes. I'm not a saint. My biggest mistake was that I did not have the strength to sign a decree to bring troops in and declare martial law in Ukraine. It was the only way to stop the radicals at that moment," Yanukovych said at a press conference in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, on Friday, November 25.
