School built in 70s partly collapses in Mykolaiv region

Mykolaiv Region's Governor Oleksiy Savchenko has reported about the collapse of several floors of secondary school No. 1 in the town of Noviy Buh in the region.

"As I was informed, the school was built in the late 70s of the last century and it has seen multiple repairs. In particular, last year news windows were installed there at the expense of budget funds," he wrote on Facebook in the early hours of Tuesday, July 4.

"The only thing that is absolutely clear is that students will not start a new school year here on September 1, because children's safety is the most important thing," he wrote.

He called on the authorities to find a solution to the problem before the school year begins.
