OSCE announces date of next Normandy Four phone talks

Telephone talks in the Normandy format between the Normandy Four leaders will be held July 24, that’s according to Martin Sajdik, the OSCE Ambassador to the Tripartite Contact Group, which sat down in Minsk Wednesday for another round of negotiations on Donbas settlement, 112 Ukraine TV channel reports.

According to Sajdik, the security subgroup at today’s meeting noted the decrease in the number of shellings due to a “harvest ceasefire” declared June 21. At the same time, he added that the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission continued to record ceasefire violations mainly in the so-called hotspots outside the settlements of Popasna, Pervomaisk, Mariupol, Svitlodarsk, and in the Avdiyivka-Yasynuvata-Donetsk Airport triangle.

Participants of the working group also returned to the issue of protecting vital infrastructure, according to Sajdik.

There was also a discussion about the separation of forces and weapons in the area Stanytsia Luhanska. In this regard, Martin Sajdik expressed hope for a positive decision on the eve of the conference talks between Normandy Four leaders July 24.
