Turchynov, Balan discuss Russia's hybrid aggression against Ukraine, Moldova

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov held a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova on Reintegration, Gheorghe Balan, to discuss the issues of deepening cooperation between the two countries in the area of defense and security, the NSDC press service reports.

The parties also discussed the issue of Russia's hybrid aggression against Ukraine and Moldova.

"Hybrid aggression of the Russian Federation against a sovereign country began in 1992 from Moldova," Turchynov said, stressing that Russia's failure to fulfill its international obligations to withdraw its military from Transnistria is one of the factors of security destabilization in Europe.

Balan stressed that Ukraine was giving Moldova "a good example of counteracting aggression, in particular, in fighting Russian propaganda."

In addition, the parties expressed interest in coordinating actions to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine and Moldova.
