Serhiy Holovaty, a Ukrainian member of the European Commission for Democracy through Law, the so-called Venice Commission, was elected vice-president of Organization’s Subcommission on the Rule of Law, as reported by Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, Dmytro Kuleba.
"Another good news from Venice: one of Ukraine's best lawyers, Serhiy Holovaty, was elected vice-president of the Venice Commission's Subcommission on the Rule of Law, which is an international recognition of the authority of our expert," he wrote.

He served as Minister of Justice from 1995 to 1997, and in 2005-2006.
