Ukraine, Vietnam sign sports cooperation agreement

Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Ihor Zhdanov and Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Anh Tuan signed an agreement on sports cooperation in Kyiv on January 16, according to the news outlet Vietnam.net.

The signing of the agreement took place on the 26th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Ukraine, it said.

It aims to promote the bilateral relations after the successful 14th meeting of the Vietnamese-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission in October 2017.

Ambassador Nguyen Anh Tuan said the agreement was expected to meet the two countries' demand in line with the policy to bolster their comprehensive cooperation. The diplomat expressed the hope that the bilateral cooperation would continue to thrive in future.

He said he believed the cooperation would allow Vietnam and Ukraine to obtain higher results in sports and also paves the way for new opportunities and cooperation of the two nations' athletes and sports federations.

On the occasion, Zhdanov invited Vietnamese athletes to attend a training course at Ukrainian sports facilities and pledged to create favorable conditions for them.
