If Ukraine pays for gas from the national currency reserves in future in half a year it may be declared a bankrupt.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko said this in Uman during communication with inhabitants of the Cherkassy Oblast.
According to the words of V. Yushchenko, Ukraine used NBU currency reserves for gas consumed in December.
V. Yushchenko noted that he is forced to address to a board of the NBU with a corresponding request because of poorly thought-out policy of the government.
At the same time the head of the state noted that it is the first time in the history of Ukrainian independence when Ukraine pays for gas from the national reserves.
The President expressed an opinion that it is a purposeful policy of the Prime Minister, which is carried out in exchange of support of the Kremlin during the presidential campaign. In particular, this policy, according to opinion of the head of the state, leads to a loss of the gas transport system.
