President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko, with his decree, dismissed Vitaliy Hayduk from the post of Secretary for National Security and Defense due to his resignation, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
According to the President`s press-office, the President appointed Ivan Pliushch on the post of Secretary for National Security and Defense.
Footnote: V.Hayduk had been working on the post since October, 10, 2006.
***I. Pliushch was born in 1941. He was a member of parliament of I-IV convocations. From December 1991 till April 1994, and from February 2000 till May 2002 he was the Verkhovna Rada Speaker. In 1994 he ran for the President of Ukraine. He is an honorary head of the Free Peasants and Businessmen Party.
