Ukraine`s government must find money to implement his new social policies
President Victor Yushchenko told reporters on Thursday Ukraine`s government must find money to implement his new social policies, according to the President`s press-office.
Yushchenko said the Yanukovych cabinet had included some of his proposals in next year’s draft budget but had rejected his demand for a 20% pay rise for doctors, teachers and other educated professionals living and working in rural areas. “I will insist on this and I will not sign the 2008 budget without these proposals,” he said. “I am convinced that we will discuss these issues professionally with a reelected parliament and a new government and that we will achieve consensus to adopt these changes.”
