European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle believes that politically motivated justice is a system problem in Ukraine.

“Politically motivated justice is a system problem in Ukraine and it needs a system solving in a form of overall judicial reform”, - he said.
The European Commissioner noted that during the recent year the European Union repeatedly stated about its indignation at using selective justice and not only in the case of ex Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko, but also in other cases.
The European Commissioner said that the first step to renewal of trust to intentions of the Ukrainian authorities to move in the European direction would be creation of conditions for recovery of health of the former Prime Minister of Ukraine in Ukraine or beyond its borders.
The European Commissioner greeted an arrangement of President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz and Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov on possibility to send a group of the medical specialists under the aegis of the European Parliament for examination and prescription of medical treatment to Yu. Tymoshenko. This group is about to add efforts of German physicians.
Regarding judicial rights of Yu. Tymoshenko, in accordance with opinion of Štefan Füle, it is important that Court of Cassation of Ukraine could announce its decision before an end of June, and the European Court on Human Rights could announce its decision in a short time after that.
According to the words of the European Commissioner, the same thing concerns former Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko.
At the same time the European Commissioner noted that all the next trials should take place in accordance with a new Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine.
He also underlined that approval of the new Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine was a forward step and it should improve a quality of future trials.
