The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine refused to adopt law, in accordance with which the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should be elected in a way of open roll-call vote, and not in a way of filling of ballot papers.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, only 217 out of 352 lawmakers registered in the session hall voted for adoption in a whole the Law “On introducing amendments into Regulations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine”.
185 lawmakers from the Party of Regions, 20 lawmakers from the People’s Party, 2 lawmakers from the OU-PSD and 10 out factional lawmakers voted for this law.
