The President emphasized importance of developing sports infrastructure in Ukraine, according to the Press office of President Viktor Yanukovych. It was stated by the President at the meeting with players, coaches and managers of the hockey club “Donbas”.
The President stressed that in order to develop sports in Ukraine it was necessary to elaborate systematical approach. “We understand that in order to develop sports in Ukraine, we must elaborate systematical approach. We are going this way,” he said.
According to the Head of State, primarily it was necessary to build sports infrastructure. He drew attention to the fact that Ukraine had achieved significant improvements in that context due to EURO-2012. “This infrastructure will serve present and future generations,” Viktor Yanukovych said.
The President also stressed importance of attracting youth to sports. “Everything begins in childhood, in school. The state must work in that sphere,” the Head of State noted.
In his turn, the coach of “Donbas” Julius Shupler expressed gratitude to the President on behalf of all the players and coach team for his attention to the hockey. He promised to continue to delight fans with victories of “Donbas”.
