The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not support in the first reading the draft law “On joining of Ukraine to Convention on protection of children and cooperation on issues of interstate adoption”, submitted by the President of Ukraine.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, only 123 out of 413 lawmakers registered in the session hall voted for this decision.
Full staff of the Svoboda and CPU did not vote for this draft law.
The document was supported by: 11 lawmakers from the Party of Regions, 60 lawmakers from the Batkivshchyna faction, 35 lawmakers from the UDAR faction and 17 out factional lawmakers.
The VRU sent this draft law for improvement to the committees of the parliament.
287 out of 419 lawmakers registered in the session hall voted from this decision.
