President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych congratulated Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel on birthday.
The press service of the head of the Ukrainian state disclosed this to UNIAN.
V. Yanukovych wished A. Merkel strong health, prosperity and success in responsible state activity.
He also expressed confidence that mutually beneficial relations between Ukraine and Germany will develop actively on principles of friendship and mutual respect, and will serve as an important factor for strengthening of security and wellbeing of the European continent.
V. Yanukovych also hopes that the government of German will support intentions of Ukraine on its ways of European integration, the signal step of which has to be signing of Agreement on association between Ukraine and the European Union.
