The top diplomat says Ukraine would welcome all instruments and formats for strengthening NATO's presence in the Black Sea region.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has called membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) the only alternative to Ukraine receiving a Membership Action Plan.
On Tuesday, Kuleba took part in an online conference titled "The Road to the Warsaw Security Forum", the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reports.
As part of a discussion panel on the Black Sea regional security, he was asked whether Ukraine is seeking to secure a NATO Membership Action Plan.
"The only alternative to providing Ukraine with a Membership Action Plan is Ukraine's membership in NATO," Kuleba stressed.
He also recalled that the majority of Ukrainians support their country's accession to NATO, and that this support has been growing steadily.

"We are all natural allies in the Black Sea. Ukraine will welcome all instruments and formats for strengthening NATO's presence in the Black Sea region, which will also include pro-active involvement of Ukraine and Georgia," he said.
Kuleba also informed about the threats of the growing militarization of the temporarily occupied Crimea and separately drew attention to Russia's possible deployment of nuclear weapons across the peninsula.
