The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the establishment of the national standardization body, an important condition of implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, according to the press service of Ukrainian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
The new body is to be set up on the basis of the state enterprise Ukrainian Scientific-Research and Training Center of Standardization, Certification and Quality, the ministry said.
As reported by ministry’s press service, the establishment of such body is essential for the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.
The Ukrainian Scientific-Research and Training Center of Standardization, Certification and Quality is the leading scientific institution in the field of standardization, and has been operating since 1991 (when the company was reorganized and renamed). The ministry said it possesses the necessary scientific and technical base, experts and experience in this field.
Currently, the plant, among other things, performs studies of national standards projects, organizes the publication and dissemination of national standards, and is developing the fundamental standards of the national standardization system.
