A new report by Transparency International suggests that corruption remains endemic across the former Soviet Union, with Russia joining Ukraine almost at the bottom of the table.
Transparency International urges the United States and the EU to assist developing states in battling corruption, stressing that when the governments exploit their position for personal enrichment, the whole economy suffers lower growth.
