On the occasion of Taras Shevchenko’s birthday 194th anniversary
On the occasion of Taras Shevchenko’s birthday 194th anniversary President Victor Yushchenko together with his wife Kateryna Yushchenko, younger children and grandchildren visited “Taras Shevchenko’s Fatherland” National reserve, which is situated in Moryntsi village, Cherkassy region, according to the President`s press-office.
President and his family took part in flower laying ceremony near the monument To a Mother, visited Taras Shevchenko’s museum complex including the house, where the Ukrainian poet was born, as well as the Chapel of St. Tarasiy. V. Yushchenko also met with the inhabitants of Moryntsi village and along with those, accompanying him in his visit to Cherkasy, took part in tree planting ceremony which was held at the territory of the reserve.
