Two civilians have been killed and another ten injured in the Donbas conflict zone in the last 24 hours as a result of shelling of villages by Russian-backed insurgents, the press center of Ukraine’s Anti-Terrorist Operation headquarters said on Tuesday on its Facebook page.
In addition, Ukrainian armed forces continue to repel attempts by the insurgents to attack Donetsk international airport.
"The attacks were carried out with the use of artillery, mortar weapons and small arms," the report reads.
"The artillery of Ukrainian forces returned fire on the positions of the insurgents 56 times in response to their attacks," the press center said.
