The Ukrainian armed forces will withdraw their heavy weapons if the Russian-backed insurgents respect the ceasefire, Acting Speaker of the General Staff of Ukraine Vladyslav Selezniov said on Thursday.
"As soon as the first paragraph of the Minsk Protocol is implemented, and there is no shelling of our positions during the day, we will be ready to withdraw our artillery," he said.
"Our positions and settlements should not be attacked for at least a day. We have not named a specific date for [the withdrawal]," Selezniov said.
