Russian-backed insurgents on Tuesday attacked Ukrainian positions with tanks, artillery and mortars, according to Ukrainian troops in the strategically important village of Pisky, which is still held by government forces.
Ukrainian soldiers say that when under heavy fire they have little to no chance of evacuating the wounded from the battlefield, Ukraine Today reports
It has been four days since the attacks started to escalate. The Ukrainian brigade defending the Donetsk airport and the nearby villages of Pisky and Avdiivka are expecting reinforcements soon.
