Six Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and another 18 wounded in the Donbas conflict zone in the last day, National Security and Defense Council spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
"Over the last day, we have lost six Ukrainian soldiers, and another 18 were injured as a result of military action," Lysenko said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, there were reports that two Ukrainian soldiers defending Donetsk airport had been killed, and another seven wounded.
The Russian-backed militants on Friday launched another attack on the airport’s new terminal, which Ukrainian forces have been defending for months.
The billion-dollar facility, which was rebuilt and modernized only in 2012, is now almost completely in ruins.
