The leaders of the Donetsk People’s Republic organization want to see a peaceful settlement of the situation in the Donbas, but could also order a military offensive, the spokesman of the DPR at the Minsk talks Denis Pushilin said on Sunday, according to Russian information agency RIA Novosti.
"We continue to insist on there being peace talks. But, at the same time, we are ready for various events. If necessary, we’ll counter-attack," Pushilin said.
As reported earlier, the next round of Minsk peace talks was scheduled on January 16, but it was canceled as Russian-backed DPR militants launched fresh attacks on Ukrainian troops defending Donetsk airport.
