The world prices growth creates unique opportunities

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the world prices growth creates unique opportunities for the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan, according to APK-Inform.

As the experts of FAO stated, the world prices for food products increased by 40% in 2007 against 17% in 2006.

According to the FAO, this tendency would remain in the medium-term prospects, that would allow Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan to significantly increase their production potential of the basic agricultural crops and, in particular, grain.

According to the FAO estimates, Ukraine may annually produce up to 75 mln tonnes of grain with average yield 45c/ha, Russia - 126 mln tonnes (27 c/ha), Kazakhstan - 28 mln tonnes (15.6 c/ha).

If this forecast holds up, these countries would get the opportunity to annually export about 100 mln tonnes of grain.
