The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, along with Ukraine in general, is to see radical reforms, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavicius told Ukrainian television news service TSN.Tyzhden on Sunday.
"The ministry will reduce by up to 50% [the number] of its employees in the near future, and will keep 15 out of 25 departments," he said.
"In addition, their functions will also be reduced," he added.
Moreover, on Wednesday, February 4, the ministry will submit to the Cabinet of Ministers its candidacy for a new deputy minister of economic development.
"The candidacies of two more of my deputies will be approved in a week," Abromavicius said.
