"As we have promised, after our agreements with President of the Slovak Republic Andrej Kiska, we are to resume the regular air service in Uzhgorod. Finally, Uzhgorod Airport will work after a long break!" Poroshenko wrote on Facebook on March 1.

According to him, the Kyiv-Lviv-Uzhgorod flight of the Motor Sich airline will be launched on March 15, 2019 and will be carried out once a week.

The work of the airfield and surrounding infrastructure will be restored soon, he said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Uzhgorod International Airport suspended work in February 2016. The State Aviation Service suspended the airport certificate for servicing passenger flights over violations of the safety rules.
