Just days after the capture of two Russian special forces troops in the Ukrainian Donbas, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said in an interview with the BBC that the military conflict in the Donbas is not just a fight with Moscow-backed separatists but a “real war with Russia.”
Meanwhile, despite the Russian soldiers’ testimony of being part of Russian military, the Kremlin has repeatedly denied allegations of Russia’s direct involvement in the fighting, claiming that both detained troops were no longer on active military duty, Ukraine Today reports.
