The autumn conscription, which Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko postponed by signing a relevant decree due to the local elections, has started in Ukraine, according to Ukrainian news service TSN.
A total of 11,000 people aged from 20 to 27 years are planned to be recruited in November.
In particular, 6,000 Ukrainians will serve in the army, while another 5,000 will serve in the National Guard. Recruits with higher education will serve one year, while those without higher education will serve one year and a half. At the same time, conscripts are promised not to be involved in fighting in Donbas.
Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak said that his department was not interested in the "street" conscription of Ukrainians.
