Vitaly Klitschko scores 65% of votes in Kyiv mayoral elections: Exit poll

In the second round of Kyiv mayoral elections, the mayor incumbent, Vitaly Klitschko, (Bloc of Petro Poroshenko - Solidarity) won 65% of the vote, while Boryslav Bereza (Party of Resolute Citizens) gained 35%, according to the independent exit poll by the Kyiv International Sociology Institute, conducted at the request of 1+1 TV channel.

The "secret ballot" method was applied in the exit poll. The statistical sampling error does not exceed 3.5%.

3,077 respondents were interviewed in Kyiv’s 60 polling stations.

However, the second round of elections saw extremely low turnout of voters across Ukraine.

"In my opinion, the question arises about the appropriateness of the majoritarian system of absolute majority, applied to the election of mayors of major cities," said the chairman of the CEC.
