The body of a missing employee of the observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Mykhailo Parakhin, was found on the slope of Mount Elbrus on Tuesday, Chief of the Elbrus Mountainous Search and Rescue Team Abdullah Guliyev said.
The scientist was found at an altitude of 3,000 meters in a hollow on the hillside under the rocky cliffs.
"Now the body is being transported down. That place is extremely avalanche, shipping work will be carried out with the insurance and it can last up to about the evening," Guliyev said.
As reported earlier, at about 15:00 on December 1, the scientist went snowboarding in the vicinity of the observatory and did not return. The observatory is located at an altitude of 3,150 meters on the peak Terskol.
The rescuers have been searching for Mykhailo Parakhin for two weeks.
