Advanced radar systems, surveillance drones and ground-to-air defence systems are among the types of military equipment the government plans to purchase next year to strengthen security in the skies, according to Oleksandr Turchynov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Ukraine Today reports.
"Air defence capabilities are the biggest problem in reviving the army's capability. This is why the revival of air defence systems is a priority for the NSDC in 2016," said Turchynov while inspecting air defence technology at Aerotechnica company near Kyiv on Tuesday, according to Ukraine Today.
