Both reactors of Khmelnytskiy nuclear plant cut off from country’s energy grid

The Khmelnytskiy nuclear power plant cut off both its reactors from the country’s energy grid.

      According to the plant’s communication unit, the first reactor was cut off for a scheduled capital repair at 22.56 on June 20. At present the reactor is kept in a “cool halting” regime.

      The second reactor was cut off by automatic protection system, which responded to an excessive vibration of bearings, at 5.46 a.m. on June22. A repair is underway.

      The radioactive environment at the industrial ground of the nuclear plan is normal and does not exceed natural indexes.

      The second reactor of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, the third reactor of the Rivne NPP, and the second reactor of the South-Ukrainian NPP are under repairs.
