U.S. Senator and one of the presidential candidates Ted Cruz has called for the release of illegally detained Ukrainian pilot, MP and member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE Nadia Savchenko.
"Russia needs to release unjustly detained Ukrainian pilot Savchenko. Enough is enough," he wrote on Twitter.
As UNIAN reported earlier, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday called on Russia to "immediately release" Ukrainian female pilot, Nadia Savchenko, following a similar call by the European Union.
Kerry added that Savchenko's "trial and continuing imprisonment demonstrate disregard for international standards, as well as for Russia's commitments under the Minsk agreements."
