The 15th National Book Trade Exhibition “Forum of Publishers in Lviv” will solemnly open in Lviv on September 11. The exhibition will last for four days.
According to the information of the Lviv City Council, this year organizers of the Forum of Publishers will call on native publishers and book sellers to discuss one of the most pressing problems at the Ukrainian book market – “Statistics and Analysis of the Book Market”.
Forum head Oleksandra Koval notes that unfortunately “nobody in Ukraine can tell how many books are published and, the most important, how many books are sold. The total number of book names is not the showing that may allow to determine the readers consumer demand and its priorities. Only statistics of the retail trade may help in this sphere”.
Within the frames of this year’s forum it is planned to carry out a number of contests, including The Best Book of the Publishers Forum.
