Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has described the parade on Independence Day in Kyiv on August 24, 2016 as being a symbolic report about Ukraine's combat readiness.
"In the spring of 2014, our hero-volunteers fought off the enemy with bare hands. There were no armored vehicles and weapons,” Poroshenko said during his annual address to the Verkhovna Rada.
